It would be a pleasure to see you at Uncommon Ground on Sunday April 21st at 7pm. It is a beautiful and intimate venue with perfect sound and lighting. The music charge is a modest eight bucks! So bring a friend (or two).I will have a great band with me. We will play a lot of unrecorded music, music from my Cd Culmination and a brand new piece, an extended version of 'Dance at the Carsi'. It's a multi-sectional composition that draws upon a Turkish 5/8 dance rhythm and a polyrhythmic north African 6/8. You should be wiggling in your seat if not actually up on your feet dancing. The musicians who have been with me from the beginning, bassist Cory Biggerstaff and saxophonist Tony Barba will be there of course. It is such a great feeling to play with musicians with whom I share a musical vision. Tony and Cory are burning improvisers and very generous human beings. Relatively new to the group is my friend pianist Mark Moultrup, a true keyboard wizard and fine composer. This will be our third concert together. The newest member of the group is drummer Charles Heath. A percussionist in demand, he is quite known for his virtuosity and artistry. This will be our second hit together. There was such chemistry at the First Baptist Church concert, I can't wait to hear what will happen on the 21st.Hope to see you there. And, THANK YOU for your support.Regards,Donovan
